A one-day hockey clinic with purpose, open to all high school hockey players, run by current and former national coaches and players and by people who love hockey and those who play it.

489 inspires a culture of excellence in young players on and off the field by shaping faith, character and skill. Excellence begins with thoughts, is honed by practice and culminates in identity. We're following Philippians 4:8-9 which urges excellence in what we think and do, so that we can be all that God created us to be.

Hockey and its culture have the potential to shape young players in positive and negative ways. 489 aims to build character and skills on the foundation of faith to discover and embrace our God given identity. We aim to provide training and support to young players to help them grasp and retain that identity, on and off the field, in and outside of school.

Philippians 4:8-9 ESV Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
